Setup Outlook 2003 and 2007 email clients
Setup Outlook 2003 email client:
1. Open Outlook 2003 and click on Tools>Email Accounts.
2. When the Email Accounts box appears, choose Add a New Email Account the click Next.
3. Choose IMAP or POP3, depending on your preferences then click Next.
4. This box enables you to add your information: User Information, Server Information, and Logon Information.
5. DO NOT check Logon Using Secure Password Authentication, ignore this option.
6. Click on More Settings. On this box, click on the Outgoing Server tab. Choose My Outgoing Server Requires Authentication, and make sure Use Same Settings as My Incoming Mail Server, is selected.
7. Click on the Advanced tab and ensure that the Incoming Server Port number is set to either 110 (POP3) or 143 (IMAP). Also change the Outgoing Server Port Number to 587. Nothing else should be selected on the page at this time.
8. Click OK, and then Finish.
9. Your Outlook 2003 in now set up and ready to use.
Setup Outlook 2007 email client
1. Open Outlook 2007 and click on Tools>Account Settings.
2. Under the Email tab, click New.
3. Check the Manually Configure Server Settings or Additional Server Types.
3. Under Choose Email Service, select Internet Email, click Next.
4. On the Internet Email Settings box, you will configure the following: User Information, Server Information, and Logon Information.
5. Click on More Settings.
6. On the Outgoing Server tab, select My Outgoing Server Requires Authentication and ensure that Use Same Settings and My Incoming Mail Server is selected.
7. Click on the Advanced tab and verify that the Incoming Mail Server Port Number is either 110 (POP3) or 143 (IMAP), and that the Outgoing Mail Server Port Number is 587. Use the Following Type of Encryption should be set to None.
8. Click OK and then Click Finish.
9. You have set up Outlook 2007.
