It's the only technology that delivers symmetrical multi-gig speeds, so if fiber is available at your address, it's the clear choice. Current Lightcurve cable or DSL customers can switch easily; we'll work with you to make the move.

Is fiber more reliable than cable or DSL?

Yes. Because fiber transmits light instead of electricity, it's immune to the interference that affects copper lines — radios, motors, power lines, and nearby cables have no effect on the signal. Fiber holds up better in bad weather, and it doesn't conduct lightning strikes the way copper can. It also costs less to maintain than traditional copper, which keeps service consistent and affordable.

How fast is Lightcurve fiber?

Lightcurve's fiber plans range from 1 Gig (1,000 Mbps) up to 8 Gig (8,000 Mbps) in select markets. For perspective, the median US home internet speed is around 250 Mbps — so 1 Gig is roughly four times faster than typical, and 8 Gig is over thirty times faster.

Why would I want gig or multi-gig speeds at home?

Because everything in your home is online now. Gig and multi-gig speeds mean instant page loads, lag-free gaming, 4K streaming on multiple screens at once, fast cloud backups, and smooth video calls — all happening simultaneously across phones, laptops, TVs, smart home devices, and security cameras. Is this promotional pricing? Will my bill jump later?

No. We believe in clear, consistent billing, so we don't use promotional-period pricing to attract Fiber To The Home customers. The price you sign up at is the price you pay.

What happens if I move to an area without fiber?

Nothing — there's no penalty for canceling Fiber To The Home service if you move somewhere we don't offer it.

Will I need new devices to use fiber?

No. Your existing computers, phones, and tablets will all work — though older devices may not reach the full speed of your plan on their own. When your service is installed, our technicians will test and show you the speed coming into your home.

Can I use my own Wi-Fi router?

Yes. To get the most from gig and multi-gig plans, we recommend a modern Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7 router with multi-gig Ethernet ports — older routers will work, but they'll cap your wireless speeds below what your plan delivers. Keep in mind that Wi-Fi speeds always depend on the capabilities of each device.

Do I have to get my fiber modem from Lightcurve?

Fiber modems aren't widely available in retail stores, so we make it easy: you can purchase one from us or lease one monthly. Here's a list of modems Lightcurve currently supports.
