Washington State Senate Commemorates Local Company’s 100 Years in Business
TACOMA, WA – January 25, 2011 – Rainier Connect, a local provider of Internet, TV and phone services in Washington’s South Puget Sound region, is due to receive a 100 Year Declaration from the Washington State Senate on Friday, January 28th at 10:00am.
Senator Randi Becker – 2nd District, Eatonville, put together the declaration event, which will be held in the legislative building at the Capital Friday afternoon.
“We are so honored that Senator Becker and the Washington State Senate have bestowed this recognition upon our company”, said Rainier Connect CEO Brian Haynes. “My family and all of the employees; we are extremely thankful that we have been able to serve such phenomenal South Sound communities for the past 100 years”.
The declaration will be read as follows:
WHEREAS, Rainier connect has been serving the town of Eatonville for over 100 years; and
WHEREAS, Rainier Connect has been able to expand into neighboring South Sound communities; and
WHEREAS, Rainier Connect began as Mt. Tahoma Telephone and Telegraph in 1910 and, after several name changes, became Rainier Connect in 1995 and began providing Internet access among other services; and
WHEREAS, The Christensen family took over the company in 1912 and it has now been in the Haynes family for 5 generations; and
WHEREAS, the history of Rainier Connect is deeply rooted in its family values; and
WHEREAS, Rainier Connect is devoted to the community; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Washington State Senate commemorate the Rainier Connect on the occasion of its centennial; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That copies of this resolution be immediately transmitted by the Secretary of the Senate to Rainier Connect.
