    Position Summary

    The Financial Planning Analyst, as an integral member of Lightcurve’s finance department, will specialize in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), provide crucial financial insights, support the decision-making processes, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. 

    This role will play a pivotal function in strategic decision-making and optimizing financial performance by analyzing financial data, developing forecasts, and offering actionable data-driven recommendations and alternate courses of actions. Working closely with cross-functional teams, the Financial Planning Analyst will leverage analytical skills to guide budgeting, resource allocation, and long-term planning efforts. This position is instrumental in navigating challenges, capitalizing on opportunities, and fostering sustainable growth within the company.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Financial Analysis:  Conduct detailed analysis on financial data including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and other relevant financial information.  Interpret data to identify trends, outliers, and potential areas of concern or improvement.

    Forecasting and Budgeting:  Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop accurate financial forecasts and budgets. Monitor actual performance against forecasts, identify variances, and provide explanations for deviations.

    Financial Modeling:  Build and maintain financial models to support long-term planning, scenario analysis, and decision-making.  Evaluate the financial impact of various strategic initiatives and investment opportunities.

    Reporting:  Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for senior management, stakeholders, and external parties.  Communicate financial insights, key metrics, and performance indicators in a clear and concise manner.

    Strategic Planning:  Assist in the development of financial strategies and initiatives to achieve organizational objectives.  Provide recommendations based on financial analysis to optimize resource allocation and improve overall financial performance.

    Risk Assessment:  Identify potential financial risks and opportunities for risk mitigation.  Assess the impact of external factors such as economic trends, regulatory changes, and market dynamics on the organization’s financial health.

    Continuous improvement:  Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of financial planning and analysis processes.  Implement best practices and leverage technological tools to streamline workflows and improve data accuracy.

    Cross functional collaboration: Collaborate closely with various departments including finance, network operations, customer service and support, and other departments to gather relevant information, align financial plans with business objectives, and drive cross-functional initiatives.

    Experience and qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field. 
    • 5-7 years demonstrated experience in financial analysis, forecasting, and planning preferably in a corporate setting, with experience in the telecommunications industry preferred.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful conclusions.
    • Excellent communications and presentation skills.  Ability to convey financial concepts and insights to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
    • Detail-oriented with a focus on precision in financial analysis and reporting.
    • Ability to work both independently, as well as collaboratively, in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.  
    • Capabilities in financial modeling using Excel.
    • Results-oriented mindset, competitive drive to win against the markets largest competitors.
    • Demonstrated critical thinking skills, excellent and proactive communication skills, ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives, with sound business judgement and a bias for action.

    Compensation

    The annual salary range for this position is:

    • Financial Planning Analyst  $80,000 to $100,000 per year
