Outside Plant Supervisor, Tacoma, WA
Position Summary
The Outside Plant Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of Lightcurve technicians who perform installation and maintenance services on Lightcurve’s telecom and broadband network consisting of fiber, HFC and legacy copper technologies in the network.
This role ensures smooth day-to-day operations, consistent quality standards, and adherence to safety protocols. The Supervisor will mentor and coach employees, monitor performance, and foster collaboration with other departments to meet company objectives, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and position the company as the market leader. This role is critical in shaping the success of our field operations, while collaborating across the company to help us deliver world-class service and achieve our mission to win the market.
Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Management
- Supervise, schedule, and direct a crew of installation and maintenance technicians.
- Provide training, coaching, and mentorship to improve employee skills and performance.
- Conduct regular team meetings and one-on-one check-ins to drive engagement and accountability.

Operational Oversight
- Ensure efficient completion of installation, maintenance, and service orders.
- Monitor work quality, perform field checks, and enforce company standards.
- Oversee equipment, materials, and fleet use to maximize productivity and minimize costs.

Safety & Compliance
- Promote and enforce all safety procedures, ensuring a safe work environment.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and corrective actions when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with Customer Care, Engineering, Warehouse, Lightcurve Safety Committee, Contractors, and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
- Act as an ongoing On-Call point of contact for local municipal organizations for emergencies and concerns involving shared utility access.
- Provide updates on field activities, escalations, and project progress.
- Support company goals by aligning team performance with broader strategic objectives.

Performance & Reporting
- Track and analyze productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction metrics.
- Address performance gaps through coaching, training, or corrective action as appropriate.
- Prepare and deliver reports on operations, safety, and crew performance.
Qualifications
- 5-7 years of experience in telecom, broadband, or cable installation/maintenance.
- 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.
- Strong knowledge of coax and broadband network systems, installation practices, and maintenance standards.
- Proven ability to motivate, coach, and mentor team members.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Proficiency with work management systems, scheduling software, and reporting tools.
- Proficiency in Excel, and excellent analytical skills.
Location, Physical & Work Requirements
- Must be able to report on-site daily to Lightcurve’s Tacoma, WA Warehouse.
- Ability to work in indoor/outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
- Frequent standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 75 lbs, and use of hand/power tools.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, when required.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
- Current first aid, CPR, or Flagger training a plus.

Compensation
- The pay for this exempt position ranges from to $80,200 – $98K annually DOE.
