FP&A Analyst, Tacoma WA
Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and analytical FP&A Analyst to join our corporate accounting team. The FP&A Analyst will play a critical role in supporting strategic financial decision-making by preparing forecasts, budgets, and variance analyses, and by delivering data-driven insights to senior leadership. The ideal candidate combines strong financial modeling skills with excellent business acumen and communication ability, helping translate complex financial data into clear and actionable strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead components of the monthly and quarterly financial forecasting processes, including revenue, operating expenses, capital expenditures, and cash flow projections.
- Prepare and maintain detailed financial models to evaluate business performance, investment opportunities, and “what-if” scenarios.
- Perform variance analysis to explain differences between forecast, budget, and actual results, and recommend corrective actions.
- Partner with Accounting, Operations, Sales, and Regulatory teams to align financial forecasts with operational drivers and company strategy.
- Support preparation of board presentations, management reporting packages, and ad hoc analyses for senior leadership.
- Develop and improve financial reporting tools and dashboards (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, ERP data extracts) to deliver timely and accurate insights.
- Provide analysis to support grant compliance reporting (e.g., BEAD, state/federal broadband programs), ensuring costs align with program guidelines.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and financial planning best practices.
- Support long-term planning, including evaluation of market expansion, pricing strategies, and capital allocation.

- Improved clarity and reliability of management reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to link financial results with operational and strategic drivers.
- Contribution to data visualization and reporting improvements.
- Effective collaboration across teams, enabling better business decisions.
Skills Required
- 3 years Engineering experience or related work history in the Fiber/Copper/Coax industry.
- Understanding of and ability to use: Pole Measuring tools, Computer design programs, Excel, DWG, GIS.
- Must possess the ability to apply technical expertise to a variety of situations, evaluate problems and implement the best solution.
- Must possess the ability to successfully work under minimal supervision, within broad guidelines of procedures and goals.
- Must possess the ability to always demonstrate a professional attitude and appearance.
Experience and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field (MBA or CFA a plus).
- 3–5 years of progressive finance or FP&A experience; telecommunications or related industry preferred.
- Strong financial modeling and analytical skills, with advanced Excel proficiency.
- Experience with financial planning tools and reporting platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Hyperion, OneStream, Oracle, or similar ERP/BI systems).
- Solid understanding of financial statements and corporate performance metrics.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with ability to explain financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Compensation
- Annual Salary $85,000 – $105,000
